First Federal Savings of Lorain Community Spotlight

2017 Chronicle Telegram Design & Write Program

First Federal Savings of Lorain knows investing in our youth means investing in our community's future. Marketing coordinator Brittany Fide recently visited Ms. Dudley's fourth grade class at Horizon Science Academy in Lorain. Brittany was there to promote the Chronicle Telegram Design and Write Program. The program is designed to help students with their writing capabilities and get them thinking creatively. The program introduces students to the worlds of newspaper writing and advertising.

Brittany spoke to the children about First Federal Savings of Lorain's Cheddar Kids Club savings, and emphasized the importance of saving. After reviewing the elements of an ad, the second graders created one to promote the Kids Club account. After all of the ads were finished Cheddar made a special visit back to Horizon Science Academy to thank the students for all of their help.

The top three ads were chosen and given a prize. The first place ad (featured below) was also printed in The Chronicle Telegram.
